I have asuper 77 that a changed the oil in the filter is a old spin on type.In the center of the old filter was a 1/16 0f a in. wooden rod that was installed so as to help block the oil pressure side of the filter . I dont know if it has a honest purpose or it was to show a false presure on the gauge. Also what is the best way to keep the filter from leaking around the gasket thanks for any help. joe
