I don't really know,but were the early gas jobs 6 volt? Larry Gays book just says "The super series continued to be improved.A 12 volt electrical system with key starting was added for all three types of engines and a Tac-hourmeter became standard equipment." But he doesn't say when. I took they were phased in over time,not that they came out that way when the supers were introduced.
