My german built 2040 has 3 positions on the PTO engagement lever. The rear position is disengaged; and the center and forward positions both engage the PTO at 540. Symbols cast in the xmission case at these positions are unintelligible. What is the purpose of the 2 engaged positions? Does it have a slip clutch internal to the transmission? Shop Manual JD-41 is no help.
