We've never done a 4400 specificly but i'm thinking a major project. To start off with, probably motor mounts are different, you'll probably need to adapt and mount the diesel radiator, and complete fuel system.
Crankshaft to ground drive will more than likely be different.
Some wiring will be radicly different, and some of the guages will likely need changed out.
I think a good place to start would be your local JD dealer and have a talk with the shop foreman.
