While using a 4.5" grinder to remove rust from a 12"X28" rim, I found the letters "F&H" enclosed in a circle followed by a series of five-pointed stars also encircled followed by "W 1228", more encircled stars, an odd looking hieroglyphic character, more encircled stars, "MADE IN USA". another encircled star, a "1" followed by an encircled star below which is an encircled star followed by "65".
I know the "F&H stands for "French and Hecht", the "1228" stands for 12"X28", the "Made in USA" is obvious, the "1" and "65" probably the date of manufacture but the significance of all of the 5-pointed stars and the odd character elude me.
Can you help me decipher this code?
Thanks!
