In Reply to: How to install electric brake control on compact tractor? posted by Michael on Thursday, November 13, 2008:
we have to know what tractor model, year, and what kind of electric brakes you want to install. my suggestion is that if your pulling something that needs brakes with a compact, you should buy a bigger tractor. But, it can be done with a pickup brake controller and a sensor/switch mounted on the brake pedals. You wouldnt even need the switches if your tractor already has working brake lights, which alot of the newer tractors do. You will have to make an adapter connector for the lights and controller harness to fit a regular pickup trailer male connector. It can be done, but I still advise a larger tractor, or possibly weight up the existing tractor with cast iron weights or loading the rear tires with fluid balast.
