I have this exact same problem as noted above....very intermitent....have tried replacing alot of stuff ..ie..coil, black ignition box by the coil, solenoid on the bottom of the carb.....I tried to run it direct from the gas tank to the carb but it ended up overflowing the carb and gas filled the crankcase.....was wondering if you solved your problem yet roger?...Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!!!
