In Reply to: Nuffield 465 - rear end oil level? posted by Mark on Tuesday, January 29, 2008:
sorry but that is not correct . i own and have rebuilt 3 nuffields amd am currently working on a 4/65 . the rear end oil is the same dipstick as the gear box. the oil flows from one to the other through 2 large holes in the bottom of the casting inside . so the oil for gear box and diff are checked on the one stick and fill is at the same whole on top of the gear box , the drain for both is at the rear below the pto shaft , the smallest bolt head removes the drain plug and the larger brass one removes a mesh filter strainer. the thing takes 59 litres of oil to fill from empty.
