Tailgate Mulchers
Straw is one of the best covers for newly planted grass seed.
Seed germination is improved with a mulch straw cover and erosion is
controlled until the grass is established. Shaking straw by hand takes
time and it is hard to spread evenly. A tailgate mulcher will spread hay
or straw evenly and quickly. The evenly blown straw lays close to the soil
and is not affected by moderate winds. The material and labor savings
will quickly pay for the cost of the machine.
The powerful mulching system separates the straw fibers with
swinging flail chains and blow them up to 40 feet through a dynamically
balanced 8-blade blower fan. The fully rotating discharge cannon gives
360 degree coverage and has 60 degrees of vertical travel. Up to 100
feet of extension hose can be added for those hard to reach areas or to
use on windy days where control is necessary.
The tailgate mulcher is built to outperform and out last all
competitive models. The flail chain system is superior to the knives
that are common on the chopper machines. Both string and wire bales and
the larger 3-string bales can be used in the tailgate mulcher. The belt
driven blower fan is vibration free and eliminates down time from
coupling failure that is common on direct models. Choose a tailgate

Aqua Mulchers
Hydroseeding is a popular and profitable grass planting method.
Aqua mulchers mix and spray mixtures of mulch, seed, fertilizer, tackifier,
and other soil amendments, all in one application. The hydroseeding
application uses fiber mulch that is dyed green to meter the application.
The mulch holds seeds in place and preserves moisture until grass is
established. The slurry is pumped through hoses, up to 300 feet from the
machine and sprayed on to the seedbed. A choice of nozzles fan or long
distance allow the operator precise control when spraying around
buildings, walks, and landscape plantings. Slopes are easily sprayed
with the long distance nozzle. Hydroseeding is very economical! You
will save materials, reduce labor costs, and eliminate the mess that is
typical with other methods.
Coverage is determined by the quantity of materials loaded
into each tank filling. Aqua mulchers with paddle agitation, mix
thicker slurries than jet agitated machines and they mix each load
in less than 5 minutes. Pumping time carries from 5 to 20 minutes,
depending upon the layout of the job site. Cycle time should average
20 to 30 minutes per tank filling. Mulch application rates will vary
from 1500 to 2000 lbs. per acre. Anticipate moisture, temperature,
degree of slope, and type of soil will determine the ideal mulch
rate. At these application rates each gallon of the aqua mulcher will
cover from 8 to 11 square feet. Compare fiber mulch capacities of
paddle agitated machines to jet agitated machines when making
comparisons.
